About me

Luís Miguel Rosalino
I received a Ph.D. in Biology (Ecology and Biosystematics) from the University of Lisbon in 2004. I was a post-doctoral researcher at the Centre for Ecology, Evolution and Environmental Changes (cE3c; Faculdade de Ciências da Universidade de Lisboa, Portugal) and at the Centre for Nuclear Energy in Agriculture (CENA, Universidade de São Paulo, Brazil), and between 2015 and 2018 an Assistant Researcher at the Centre for Environmental and Marine Studies (CESAM; Universidade de Aveiro, Portugal). Currently, I am an Invited Assistant Professor at the Faculty of Science of the University of Lisbon (FCUL, Portugal). I’ am also member of the IUCN SSC Small Carnivore Specialist Group.
My research is focused on mammalian ecology, behavior and conservation, with a special interest in carnivores. I am also interested in the ecological strategies involved in carnivore adaptation to changing environments, in oak woodlands vertebrate community structure, in assessing the conservation role of agriculture landscape and in the impact of zoonotic parasites on wild mammal populations. My current research is driven by one major goal: to understands the functional conservation role of agriculture and forestry landscapes to mammals.
